Since the day I met Kristen I knew this was going to be one of my favorite events, she had amazing energy and enthusiasm for being involved in her planning (not to mention she has amazing taste). Kristen and Doug completely trusted me were open to new ideas. I also got to work with my dear friend Heidi on a unique event in a beautiful location. I knew the photos would be stunning, as her photos always are! My favorite part was the Chapel, where we hung an ornate crystal chandelier and perfectly placed 'ghost' chairs in the snow for the guests, which made for a most gracefully, stunning ceremony. In the dining room, we made custom canvas curtains to cover the existing colorful rustic curtains, we draped dupioni silk from the ceiling to hide some artwork that was too large to remove, and we event had their staff take the shades off the 18 light fixtures hanging from the ceiling to simplify the look of the room. We also had ghost chairs set at the dinner table which was 4 long rustic barn wood tables that in total measured over 45 feet.
We decided not to cover the beautiful table with a linen, instead we softened it with a 50' burlap runner and white raw linen napkins. Zabots Design created velum place cards for their guests, wrapped around each napkin. We had been collecting candleholders and vases from antique, and thrift stores for months and had over 120 pieces placed neatly on the burlap runner. I fell in love with the decor when I saw the 60 guests toast their champagne glasses across the table.. it was beautiful!
